GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF CLASS I B

A General Assembly was held by class I B on 3rd February 2025 (Saturday) in Mount Carmel Primary School. The theme of the assembly was Good Manners which included the pleasing words- Thank You, Sorry, Please and Excuse-me. Each child was given a chance to be a part of the Assembly to build up their confidence.
As Carmelites start every event and occasion with prayer, so the Assembly began with prayer dance followed by prayer service. A beautiful skit was presented to encourage all, to use the pleasing words in day to day life. An energetic action song was performed by the class.
The children ended the Assembly with a folk dance of Rajasthan. They made the event joyful with their impressive performances.
The class teacher expressed her gratitude to God and each one for making the event successful. Ms. Vaseeta and Sr. Shanthi concluded the program with her encouraging words and appreciated the efforts of all the students.
The program ended with the National Anthem.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

Date: 26/01/2025
Mount Carmel Primary School, Carmel Cote, Ahmedabad celebrated the 76th Republic Day programme along with the flag hoisting ceremony on 26th January, 2025 at 7:45 a.m. in the school. The programme was attended by our chief guest, Mr. Firoz Pathan, the school Headmistress Sr. Shanthi and Respected Sr. Gunvanti, other community sisters, teachers and the cabinet members of the school and their parents.
 The school cabinet Aayman Ansari lead the Chief guest along with the Sisters. Everybody welcomed them with a loud round of applause. A little introduction was given by Ms. Monica about our chief guest. A program was then followed by a prayer service. Mr. Firoz Pathan, Sr. Shanthi and Respected Sr. Gunvanti marched to the flag post to hoist the national flag. The Cabinet gave the command to salute the flag followed by a national anthem. Ms. Manisha shared her inspirational thoughts on Republic Day. Our chief guest Mr. Firoz Pathan shared his valuable thoughts on Republic Day. Lastly, the principal of our school, Sr. Shanthi proposed a vote of thanks with her kind words.

CHRISTMAS DAY CELEBRATION & FEAST DAY OF SR. GUNVANTI

Christmas is the perfect time to celebrate the love of God and to create memories that will last forever. Jesus is God’s perfect, indescribable gift. The amazing thing is that not only are we able to receive this gift, but we are able to share it with others on Christmas and every other day of the year.” 
The General Assembly of I-A was full of encouragement, love and support. Students of the class were very excited for their performances.
The programme began at 8:15 on 23rd December, 2024 in the school assembly hall of Mount Carmel Primary School, Khanpur. The programme began by welcoming our Manager Sr. Gunvanti and the headmistress Sr. Shanthi . 
As Sr. Gunvanti was celebrating her feast day one student from each STD presented her with a sapling as a token of love. 
The Christmas program started with a short introduction was given by Amaira Patel about what is Christmas and why it is celebrated.  
Prayer is what brings us closer to God, a Prayer and Prayer Service were performed followed by a Musical Play about The Three Trees (It's a reminder that Christmas is about forgiving and restoring relationships.)  
“Dance is a form of art and a celebration in itself”. The students performed an Entertainment Dance that brought good cheer among the audience as for Christmas comes but once a year. 
The birth of Jesus has long been celebrated in song, and Christmas carols are so well loved now that they're at the very heart of seasonal tradition. So few Christmas carols were sung melodiously by the children.
Sr. Gunvanti gave an inspiring and motivating speech on Christmas and suggested kindle the spirit of joy, love, hope, giving and unity that Christmas stands for.
The programme ended with a group photo session and lastly children were excited to have Santa Claus amongst them.

CHRISTMAS CAROL SINGING COMPETITION

The Christmas Carol Singing Competition commenced with a warm introduction, setting the tone for a celebration and talent. Gratitude was extended in the opening remarks, acknowledging the blessings received and expressing appreciation for the opportunity to gather in joyous festivity.
Esteemed judges were accorded a gracious welcome, introducing each member to the audience, setting the stage for the impartial assessment and encouragement they would provide throughout the event.
Christmas Carol Singing Competition was organized on 19th December , 2024 in the School hall for grade 1 to 4.Selected students from each house participated in the Competition with a great zeal and enthusiasm.
The judges for the competition were Sr. Gunvanti and Mr. Nevil Christian.
The program commenced at 8:30 am and ended at 09:45 am.
The young singers from each house enthralled the audience with their articulation and melodious skills while singing the Christmas Carols.
The judges appreciated and applauded the performances of the participants.
Capturing the cherished moments, a lively photo session ensued, commemorating the achievements.
Mr. Nevil Christian appreciated the efforts of all the students with his inspirational and great thoughts. The runner - up group of the Carol Singing Competition was Yellow House and felicitated by Sr. Gunvanti with a trophy. The winner group of this competition was Blue House and felicitated by Mr. Nevil with a Trophy. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by the Teacher Manisha expressing her gratitude to one and all.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF CLASS II B

The students of Class II-B presented a thought-provoking assembly on the theme "Always Be
Humble and Charitable" on 10th December 2024. The event was a part of our school's Social
Awareness Week, which aims to inculcate values of charity, humility, and kindness, inspired by
our foundress Mother Veronica.
The assembly commenced with a beautiful prayer dance, followed by a prayer service, an action song "Lend a Helping Hand," a skit, and an energetic dance performance. The students
showcased their teamwork and creativity through their gestures and expressions.
The skit highlighted the importance of being helpful, generous, and charitable, with a moral that "sacrifice is the soul of charity." The students conveyed the message that when we give from our heart, it has the power to change lives.
The audience appreciated the remarkable performances, and the assembly concluded with
encouraging words from Ms. Seema. She emphasized the importance of humility and charity,
urging the students to embody these values in their daily lives.
The assembly ended with the school song, sung by all the children with dedication and
enthusiasm.

CHRISTMAS SYMBOL MAKING

The festive spirit was in full swing as our students participated in a Christmas symbol making competition. The event was a wonderful opportunity for the children to showcase their creativity and talent.

Participants created beautiful and intricate symbols, including Christmas trees, stars, bells, and nativity scenes, using various materials like paper, clay, and recycled items.

The competition was judged on creativity, originality, and overall presentation. The winners were awarded certificates.

The event was a huge success, spreading joy and festive cheer among the students, teachers, and parents. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the true spirit of Christmas.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF CLASS II A

Date: 26/10/2024
The General Assembly of Std 2 A was on the 26th of October 2024.
It was Diwali celebration the Theme taken was “LET’S BRIGHTEN UP OTHERS LIFE AND BE THE LIGHT FOR OTHERS AROUND US.”
The assembly had total 7 performances with the active participation of the entire class. The assembly began with a prayer dance “Jyoti tumhari” followed by prayer and intentions. A child recited a poem in Hindi on Diwali, after which a group of girls sang and Action song “This little guiding light”.
A skit was performed where in the message of sharing and caring for the orphans and under privileged was given, also a message was given not to waste money on burning crackers but rather giving that amount to the needy. This would bring more joy and satisfaction to the giver.
Then our class Sports girl who is good with her gymnastics showcased her talent along with three other girls who performed on the hula hoop rings, which was loved by all.
The second last performance was of 4 girls on skates wishing everyone a Happy Diwali. After which wrapped up the celebration with a soft dance performance by our girls on the song “Nadaniya”which was greatly applauded and also children sang along with the dancers.

DIYA MAKING COMPETITION

The festive spirit of Diwali was ignited at our school as students participated in a Diya making competition. The event showcased the creativity and artistic skills of our young learners.

Participants crafted beautiful and unique diyas using clay, paper, and other eco-friendly materials. 

The competition was a wonderful way to promote teamwork, creativity, and cultural awareness. The winners were awarded certificates, and all participants received appreciation for their efforts.

The event concluded with a sparkling display of the handmade diyas, filling the atmosphere with warmth and festive cheer.

LITERARY DAY 

World Literary/Literature day is celebrated on 8th October every year. It is celebrated to create awareness and remind the public of the importance of literature in our lives today. Literature makes us what we are. It helps us to see the world differently and therefore makes us more mature and intelligent. It helps us to develop our imagination and creativity.
 Hence Mount Carmel Primary School had organized a special assembly to celebrate this day. With the help of the teacher incharge Ms Sapna, the students of class 3 conducted the assembly in English which included a hymn, prayer, thought for the day, tongue twisters, poem, story and a quiz based on English Literature. Later a competition was held for the students of class 1 to 4 where they actively participated in an array of activities with great zest and zeal. The little ones of class 1 and 2 integrated language learning with arts through a picture story (poster making) activity. Students of class 3 unleashed their creativity by fruitfully engaging in poetry writing. Stories being increasingly recognised as one of the pillars of language learning, the students of class 4 adorned the author’s cap by writing interesting and inspirational stories.
It was a day well spent, where learning and enjoyment seamlessly intertwined leaving a lasting impact on the school community. It was evident that the Literary Day celebration had achieved its goal of fostering a deeper appreciation for English Literature while providing a fun and enriching experience for all involved.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF CLASS III D

‘Be Constant In Prayer’ a simple yet very influential gem of Mother Veronica.
On 9th October 2024, the students of III D celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Mother Veronica.
The assembly started at 8:15 a.m. in the school hall with a short introduction skit based on the story of ‘The Good Samaritan’ One of the students dressed as a Carmelite sister reflected the values of helpfulness and care which are also some of the qualities of Mother Veronica.
The event continued with an alluring prayer dance and prayer service. One of the students threw light on the gem of Mother Veronica ‘Put Your Trust In God Alone, Not In Man’ while another student recited a beautiful poem on Mother Veronica. Few students honoured Mother Veronica with an enthralling dance performance. A short yet funny skit was enacted by the students based on the gem ‘Be constant in prayer’. The students danced to some foot tapping music performing the local Gujarati dance – The Garba.
Ms. Monica Christian, one of the staff members addressed the audience with an interactive and spontaneous speech based on the life of Mother Veronica. There was a feeling of excitement and merriment. The event continued with the Prize Distribution to the winners of the Salad-Making and Story/Poetry Writing Competition held by the Health and Wellness Club and Literary Club respectively.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF CLASS III C

A General Assembly was held by class III C on 1st October 2024 (Tuesday) in Mount Carmel Primary School. The class celebrated the life of Saint Therese (Feast on 1st October) and acknowledge the hard work and sacrifices made by the father of our nation- Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October) A special intention was said for our Respected Sr. Nirmalini on her Feast . Each child was given a chance to be a part of the Assembly to build up their confidence.

As Carmelites start every event and occasion with prayer, so the Assembly began with offering prayer to the Supreme Almighty. Saint Therese was one of the theme of the assembly, therefore quote of Saint Therese, story, speech and a song was dedicated to her. The Assembly continued with the second theme that is Gandhi Jayanti, so a quote of Mahatma Gandhi, few dances, speech and a skit on Gandhiji's three wise monkeys were showcased by the students. The children ended the Assembly with an entertainment dance. They made the event joyful with their impressive performances.

The class teacher expressed her gratitude to God and each one for making the event successful. Ms. Seema concluded the program with her encouraging words and appreciated the efforts of all the students.

 The winners of the Rakhi Making Competition held in the school (26th August) were felicitated with the certificates. The program ended with the National Anthem.

NUTRITION WEEK

Nutrition week was celebrated in our school from September 24th to 27th 2024 to raise awareness about the importance of healthy eating and nutrition. The aim was to educate students about balanced diet, healthy food choices and how nutrition help in overall well being.The following activities were organised during the week 
 1. Healthy Food Poster Making - The day started with the assembly conducted by class 4th C where in a short description about nutrition week was given along with a thought, story and healthy eating habits were highlighted. Later the students of class 1 and 2 made colourful fruit masks and class 3rd and 4th created colourful posters showcasing nutritious food like fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Some of the best posters were displayed outside the principles office and the rest of the posters in the classes.  
 2. Balanced diet – The assembly was conducted by class 4th D where in the importance and meaning of balanced diet was highlighted. The assembly began with the Hindi action song. The children were informed that eating the right amount of different kinds of food gives our body all the nutrients it needs to work well.
 3. Fruits and Vegetable Day - The assembly was conducted by class 4th B in which the children learnt about the importance of including more fruits and vegetables in their diet. The assembly also focused on the impact of junk food. 
 4. Nutrition quiz - A quiz on healthy eating and nutrition facts was conducted by class 4th A. Students actively participated and learnt new things about vitamins, minerals and balanced diets. 
  5. Salad Making Competition - Salad making competition was organised for classes 3rd and 4th on 27th September. The purpose of this event was to teach the importance of eating nutritious food like fruits and vegetables. Children participated in making colourful and fresh salad using chopped ingredients brought from home such as apples, bananas, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, berries, beetroot and onions. Each participant was encouraged to use a variety of fruits and vegetables to make their salad more nutritious, tasty and attractive. It helped the children to understand that healthy eating can be enjoyable and creative. Everyone enjoyed the salads 
6. Colouring competition - A colouring competition was organised for the students of class 1 and 2. The topic for the competition was fruits and vegetables basket. 
 Conclusion - Nutrition week was a great success. Students learnt the importance of eating healthy and maintaining a balanced diet for good health. The activities were engaging and fun, helping to create awareness about nutrition in a simple and enjoyable way. The week encouraged everyone to make healthier food choices and lead a healthier lifestyle.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF CLASS III B

According to the list of events for the year 2024-25, my class General Assembly was held on 5th September 2024, Thursday.

The stage was decorated with colorful poster, craft articles and lights.

The program started sharply at 8:30 a.m. with a welcome of teachers in the assembly hall. The students wished the teachers with a sapling as a token of love.

Then the celebration began with a short introduction on the importance of Teacher's Day, followed by a prayer dance and prayer service.

After the prayer service a poem 'Happy Teacher's Day' was recited by heart.

The students depicted a beautiful message through an act titled "No Rules Day!" in a comic way to mark the celebration in a true sense.

Then the two jokers act made everyone laugh. An action song "I want to say thank you" was presented by the students to show gratitude for the teachers. They sang and performed actions very well.

Without an entertainment dance an occasion is never complete! The students gave an energetic and vibrant performance through a Bollywood dance. 

Then our headmistress Respected Sr. Shanthi gave a wonderful speech and appreciated the students for their performance.

Lastly, the program ended with the singing of the school song.

‘To err is human, to forgive divine’. Given the theme ‘Forgiveness’ the students
of class III A presented a mesmerizing assembly on 31st August 2024. The assembly
was organised under the guidance of the class teacher Ms. Sapna Rodricks. The
assembly commenced with a beautiful prayer dance followed by prayer service,
thought for the day and a poem on forgiveness. They presented a variety of
beautiful gestures and expressions through an action song. The students acted out
a small skit giving a strong and powerful message that we must forgive those who
have wronged us even under difficult circumstances because God knows what is
best for us. Few steps to true forgiveness were also given as a guide on how to
forgive others. Lastly the girls danced to some foot tapping music and
entertained everyone. Overall the assembly was conducted smoothly and the
audience was enthralled by the impeccable performance of the students. The
general assembly concluded with encouraging words from Ms. Sonica. Thereafter
winners of the Nature conservation poster making/coloring competition and Rakhi
making competition were awarded certificates. Finally the assembly culminated
with the singing of the school anthem.

World Gujarati Day

Gujarati Day was celebrated in Mount Carmel Primary School on 24th August 2024. It is celebrated every year as a tribute to the legendary poet Veer Narmad and Jhaverchand Meghani, the founder of modern Gujarati literature. Jhaverchand Meghani’s research based contribution to Gujarati folklore is highly recognized and appreciated. Mahatma Gandhi had given him the title of ‘Raashtriya shaayar’.
Under the guidance of Ms Leena and Ms Manisha the morning assembly was conducted in Gujarati by the students which included a hymn, thought, poem and a quiz on the famous food, places, personalities etc of Gujarat. Thereafter students did various Gujarati language activities like colouring activity in the map of Gujarat was done by the little stars of classes 1 and 2. Students of std 3 and 4 made colourful charts by writing famous Gujarati poems, thoughts, quotes etc.
It was a day of joy, learning and embracing the rich culture of this magnificent state.

Independence Day Celebration

 Mount Carmel Primary School celebrated India's 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. The event was held in the school assembly hall, which was decorated with tricolor flags, national symbols and streamers.
The program begun with the welcoming of the chief guest, Imraan Khedawala, the Ex MLA. The hoisting of the National Flag was done by the chief guest, Mr. Imraan Khedawala followed by the national anthem. The students staff and the parents stood in attention paying respect to the flag. The chief guest then address the gathering emphasizing the significance of Independence Day and the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters. He encouraged the students to work towards building a stronger and more united India. The celebration included a range of cultural programs such as prayer service, prayer dance, patriotic songs and dances. The students showcased their talents performing with great passion and energy. A speech on India's struggle for Independence was delivered by Ms. Leena 
The program concluded with the distribution of sweets and vote of thanks by the Headmistress, Sr. Shanthi
Overall the Independence Day celebration at Mount Carmel was a grand success filled with patriotic spirit and enthusiasm

GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF CLASS IV D

To help students understand India's freedom struggle, the sacrifices of freedom fighters and the importance of democratic values, a general assembly on the theme ‘Independence Day’ was conducted by the students of class 4D with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor on 14th August, 2024. The assembly showcased the talents of the students and their deep love for the nation
The assembly commenced with a welcome speech and an introduction by Arsheen Khan Pathan and Danishara Mansuri about the journey of India from colonial rule to independence. It was then followed by a prayer dance and prayer service. 
The students sang a medley of patriotic songs that evoked feelings of pride and love for the country. A short speech on Independence Day by Unnati Khairajani added value to the assembly.
A short skit was enacted by the students that highlighted the importance of ‘Unity’, which is important to build a strong nation.
A mesmerizing patriotic dance performance was presented by the students. There was a feeling of pride and patriotism in everyone’s heart. 
Sr Shanthi, the headmistress of the school appreciated the efforts of all the students and encouraged them, to uphold the values of freedom and democracy. The winners of Independence Day Craft competition held on 10th August were felicitated with a certificate. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by the class teacher – Ms Sonia Joseph expressing her gratitude to one and all.
The assembly was not just a celebration but a reminder of our responsibilities as citizens of free nation and reaffirmation of our commitment to preserving it.

National Symbol Craft Competition

Nature's Conservation Day

 Nature Conservation Day was celebrated at Mount Carmel Primary School Khanpur on 5th August to raise awareness among students about the importance of preserving our natural environment.
The day begin with a special assembly conducted by class 4th A, high lighting the significance of Nature Conservation Day. The Assembly included a prayer for the well being of a planet, Earth followed by inspirational speech, a poem, a thought, song and some rules to be followed in school to preserve nature. The Headmistress, Sr. Shanthi emphasized the need for every individual to take responsibility for protecting the environment. 
There after a poster making competition was organised for the students of class 3 and 4 and a drawing competition for students of class 1 and 2 ,Where they creatively expressed their ideas on conserving nature. The competition saw enthusiastic participation with students show casing their artistic skills and understanding of environmental issues.The students and staff enjoyed celebrating the Nature Conservation Day in School.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF CLASS IV C

A General Assembly was held in Mount Carmel Primary School on 3rd August 2024, Saturday. The assembly was conducted by class 4th -C on the theme Honesty. Every student was given a chance to be a part of the Assembly to build up their confidence.
The Assembly started with a short enactment of the story " The Honest woodcutter ". After the introduction of the theme an expressive and graceful prayer dance was performed followed by a prayer service. The assembly also included a poem, thought of the day, news,action song, skit and entertainment dance.
The students showcased a wonderful skit based on the theme Honesty where in the children were made aware that Honesty is the best policy and we should always speak the truth. The girls of class 4th C entertained everyone with their vibrant singing and dance performances. All the students presented a remarkable performance in the Assembly. Lastly the class teacher delivered a vote of thanks.
The Assembly was concluded with the encouraging words by Ms Christina on the theme Honesty.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF CLASS IV B

Date: 15/07/2024
The program was dated on 15th July, 2024. The theme of the program was “FEAST OF OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL”. It focused on importance of Mother Mary’s blessings for us.
It began with anchoring by Ayman Ansari. Then a prayer dance was followed by the prayer service.
The prayer dance “O maa mariyam tera naam” was well performed by the students.
The intentions included prayers for the sisters of this congregation, our foundress Mother Veronica, peace around the world, our carmel family & our families at home. The prayer service was winded up by the prayer “Our Father”.
The hymn “Mother of Carmel” was sung by the children to ask blessings from Our Lady & teach us to inculcate her values in our lives.
The song was followed by the skit of Simon Stock. The children enacted the holy monk praying for a miracle to Mother Mary as they were mocked and humiliated by the people then & he was blessed with the immensely powerful scapular, which people wear with deep faith & trust, for protection, even today.
It brought out the values of being grateful, being pious and dedicated to our Lady of Mount Carmel.
Last but not the least, the program was winded up by an entertainment dance including 2 songs (Lily and Unstoppable). There was a loud cheer among the audience and the multitude sang joyfully whilst the children performed on the stage with high energy and enthusiasm.
The backdrop of the stage was decorated by the creative teachers for the feast day program.
The vote of thanks was presented by the headmistress Resp. Sr. Shanthi to appreciate and applaud the children performing their best on the stage and bringing out the importance of the program well.
Lastly, before taking the class photo, the whole school sang the school song “A happy band” with much pride and attention.
The program was conducted and the results were satisfactory. A big Thank You to the headmistress of the school, Sr. Shanthi for giving me an opportunity to bring out the talents of my class students in a very short time on the stage so well.

CABINET INSTALLATION 2024-25


We at Mount Carmel celebrated Swearing in Ceremony of the newly elected cabinets for the year 2024-25 on 13th July under the guidance of 4th std teachers.
The ceremony began with great enthusiasm with the marching of the newly elected cabinets towards the stage. As the cabinets took their places on the stage we proceeded towards Lighting of the lamp ceremony to ask guidance and blessings from the almighty God as we embark on this important occasion. Respected Sr. Gunvanti, Sr. Shanthi and 3rd std teachers were called to light the lamp.
The pinning of the badges to the newly elected cabinets was done as follows:-

The newly elected cabinets took an Oath by repeating the pledge which was delivered by a teacher.
After the Oath Taking ceremony the vote of thanks was delivered by the newly elected Head girl Deanna Montero. 
After the Vote of thanks the newly elected cabinets dispersed from the stage.

Theme: PUNCTUALITY
Date: 13/07/2024
   A General Assembly was held in Mount Carmel primary school on 13th July 2024, Saturday. The Assembly was conducted by class 4th A on the theme Punctuality .The students focused on the theme punctuality where students were made aware to be on time, wherever they go and whatever they do to avoid inconvenience to self and others.Every student was given a chance to be a part of the Assembly to build up their confidence. 
     The assembly started with an expressive prayer dance followed by a prayer service. It included thought of the day, the news report reading, Further the Swearing in ceremony of the present cabinets for the Year 2024 - 2025 was organized by the 4th standard teachers.
 A short cultural program based on the theme Punctuality was conducted further with awesome action song and an entertainment dance. 
       The students showcased a wonderful skit based on the theme Punctuality. The girls of class 4th A entertained everyone with their vibrant dance performance. All the students presented a remarkable performance in the assembly. Lastly Ariana Rajiwala, delivered a vote of thanks.
      The assembly was concluded with the encouraging words by the school Headmistress, Sr. Shanthi on the theme Punctuality.

Handwriting Competition - 2024

"Mount Carmel Primary School hosted an English Handwriting Competition for students in classes I to IV on Wednesday, 28th June. The event aimed to inspire students to improve their writing skills and showcase their penmanship.
